Advantage Travel Partnership has appointed Andrea Caulfield-Smith as head of its business travel division, replacing Guy Snelgar.
She takes up the post of managing director – global business travel from 15 April following Snelgar’s decision to return to his former consultancy role.
Snelgar joined in June 2022 and will leave Advantage in July after completing a handover and a number of new projects.
Caulfield-Smith joins Advantage from Visa where she holds the position of director B2B global travel partnerships. Prior to Visa, she held leadership roles with brands including American Express, easyJet and Carlson Wagonlit.
She said: “I have always had a great deal of respect for Advantage’s global business travel team and am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to lead the business. I am hugely passionate about the business travel industry and very much looking forward to collaborating with members and suppliers to further strengthen our collective businesses.”
Advantage chief executive Julia Lo Bue-Said added: “We are delighted to be welcoming Andrea to Advantage. Her extensive knowledge and experience of the global business travel sector is second to none, and she is excited by the ambitious growth strategy we have set ourselves going forward.
“Andrea’s key focus will be to build on the success of our Global Business Travel division, which accounts for over 50% of our membership, with a £7.6 billion annual turnover. Her key area of focus will be to deliver even greater value to our members as we continue to invest significantly in our commercial products and services across this important business division.”
She added: “I would like to thank Guy for his strong contribution to our growth over the last two years. Under his leadership we have developed an outstanding team and significantly grown our global presence. He leaves Advantage with our gratitude and best wishes.”
