A TTG Top 50 agent has described a new £50,000 partnership with Warner Bros, Sky VIP and Discovery Plus as "one of those pinch me moments".
Britt-Marie Monks, owner of homeworking agency The Honeymoon Fixer, has signed a deal with the two global media brands to be their agent booking partner for an upcoming competition running alongside the first series of 90 Day Fiance UK.
The dating show, which will air on Discovery Plus next week, will promote a prize giveaway giving couples the chance to win a £50,000 romantic holiday – one Monks has been tasked with booking and organising.
"I’m just so excited," Monks told TTG. "I’ve worked so hard with the agency – from never being in travel before launching to landing a £50,000 booking from some of the biggest brands on the planet.
"Just signing the contracts with Warner Bros and Sky was so overwhelming and surreal, the whole thing has been a real a pinch me moment."
Monks said the new business was "huge" for her agency, which gained a spot in TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies 2022 through the Top Weddings and Honeymoons agency category.
"This isn’t the biggest booking I’ve ever made, but it will probably be the easiest I’ve ever had to do in the sense of not being in competition with other agencies.
"It’s obviously going to be quite hard when we actually go through the process as we don’t know who’s going to win," she added. "But it’s got the potential to get larger, it’s not capped at £50,000. The couple can put some more money behind it if they want to."
The winners, who will be announced at the end of August, will choose what type of romantic break they take, whether it be a wedding, a honeymoon, a renewal of vows ceremony, or a proposal.
Monks was initially contacted by a member of the Warner Bros team after they approached several larger travel firms, all of which turned them down.
"He said my name came up quite a bit," she said. "At first I thought it was all a bit suspicious because it was a £50,000 booking and you don’t often get those sort of calls out of the blue.
"I investigated as it did sound a bit too good to be true, but I knew this was completely my bag, it’s what I do – I’ve done engagements, I’ve done weddings, vow renewals, all of it."
Monks previously worked with Paramount Studios on other competition bookings, and hopes the new partnership with Warner Bros will lead to an increase in forward business.
"The exposure it will give the agency is amazing," Monks added. "They have given me loads of assets to use, I can promote it on my social pages, it’s just so surreal."
