A fire involving nearly a dozen vehicles disrupted Bristol airport at the weekend.
The blaze broke out in the airport’s Silver Zone car park on Sunday morning, with 11 cars affected and three thought to have been completely destroyed.
A Bristol airport spokesperson said: “A parked car caught fire in our Silver Zone car park, which is an open-air car park to the south of our runway. The fire spread to a small number of vehicles. There were no injuries, and the fire was quickly put out by the emergency services.
“We’ve already been in contact with most of the owners of the damaged cars, including all of those who were returning yesterday and today. We’ll be contacting the small remaining number as a priority this morning.”
The blaze happened at 10am on Sunday morning. The airport said there were no diversions and delays to flights were minor.
In October, Luton airport’s Terminal 2 multi-storey car park was devastated by a fire that began in a diesel car, with the building now under deconstruction.
