Former British Airways managing director – operations, Garry Copeland, has resigned from the board of the Civil Aviation Authority after just seven months owing to a "potential conflict of interest".
Garry Copeland was appointed non-executive director on a four-year term in September 2021, but the CAA said on Monday afternoon (21 March) he had withdrawn from the board.
"It is with regret that we have not been able to resolve a potential conflict of interest to our mutual satisfaction," said the CAA. “We offer him our very best wishes for the future."
Copeland’s previous experience working in the aviation and aerospace sectors included roles as managing director – operations at British Airways.
TTG has approached the Department for Transport for further comment.
