Holiday Taxis Group has appointed Ian Coyle as its new managing director.
Coyle has worked for the airport transfers and mobility firm for the past seven years latterly as senior vice-president global sales.
He takes over from Peter Hilton, who stood down as chief executive in March.
In his past roles, Coyle has headed up the firm’s global source market and regional expansion into China, the wider Asian markets, Gulf territories and the Americas.
His promotion comes with immediate effect and sees him working closely with Sir Colin Chandler, who will revert to his position as deputy chairman.
In a statement, Holiday Taxis Group said Coyle “has built on the company’s market leading position from its UK and European source markets, where it quickly established itself as the provider of choice for UK and European travel agencies, airlines, OTA’s and tour operators”.
Coyle said: “I’m extremely proud and honoured to be asked to lead this fantastic organisation.
“It’s been at the centre of my life for many years now, I love the business, I love the people in our business and truly believe we have the best team in the industry here.
“Working with Sir Colin has been enlightening to draw upon his vast experience in business and commerce and, I look forward to this continuing, as the board, executive team and shareholders are committed to our continuing quest for global domination within our space in the industry”.
Holiday Taxis also confirmed the promotion of Rebecca Cain to deputy managing director.
Under her new role, Cain will retain her financial and commercial director responsibilities within the business.
She has worked at Holiday Taxis Group for the past 3 years and the company said she had been “instrumental in delivering industry-leading commercial results” for the business.
Brendan Breslin, chairman and controlling shareholder of Holiday Taxis Group, said: “I’m delighted to appoint both Ian and Rebecca to their respective positions. Our business has never been in such a strong position, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our current executive team.
“Under Ian’s leadership moving forwards, we are more than well placed to ensure we deliver even greater value and reward to our travel industry distribution partners and transport suppliers around the world, along with our shareholders and team members across the company”.
