The Czech Republic remains open to tourists despite the country declaring a state of emergency owing to the growing refugee crisis in Ukraine and central Europe.
Katarina Hobbs, CzechTourism director UK and Ireland, played down the impact of the Czech government’s move, stating it was necessary to unlock funds to support refugees fleeing Russia’s invasion.
"After a state of emergency was declared, CzechTourism continues to welcome all visitors and are preparing for a busy year with a wide range of campaigns centred around their 2022 marketing strategy of Czech traditions," said CzechTourism.
Hobbs added: “The heart of Europe, the Czech Republic, has recently declared a state of emergency in order to access additional budgets to support incoming refugees from Ukraine.
"We would like to reassure travellers that tourism is continuing as usual and, as always, we invite everyone to experience our beautiful country."
