Delta Air Lines is to introduce a new service to Orlando from Heathrow at the start of the upcoming winter season.
The US carrier will operate four weekly flights on the route to the Sunshine State’s theme park gateway from 28 October until 30 March 2025.
Matteo Curcio, Delta’s senior vice president for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, said: “In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, our new route seamlessly connects two diverse destinations.
“Orlando is a sought-after getaway spot for UK holidaymakers wanting some winter sun and fun. With an abundance of exhilarating theme parks, beautiful national parks and white sandy beaches, customers will find there’s something to suit all ages and interests in Orlando.”
Delta’s transatlantic joint venture partner Virgin Atlantic already flies to Orlando from Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh airports.
The carrier plans to deploy its Airbus A330-900neo aircraft on the Heathrow-Orlando route with a total of 281 seats across its Delta One business class, Premium Select, Comfort+ and economy cabins.
Heathrow flights will depart at 4pm to arrive in Orlando at 8.20pm local time. The Orlando service departs at 10.35pm with arrival into Heathrow at 11.40am the next day.
