Dormant South African Airways to shut London office after 70+ years

The carrier, whose flights to the UK and Europe are temporarily suspended, has – however – appointed Discover the World as its UK general sales agent, and pledged to keep engagement with the trade ticking over while it navigates its own financial and operational challenges.

Discover the World will assume responsibilities for sales and marketing representation for SAA in the UK from 1 June ahead of the London office closing on 31 July.

"While SAA has temporarily suspended flights to UK and Europe, due to the pandemic and its business restructuring, Discover the World’s appointment will ensure the airline’s favourable brand reputation is maintained in the market and will provide continued engagement with travel trade and corporate partners in developing further business opportunities," said Discover the World.
