EasyJet will operate extra flights to Palma and Paris this summer from Southend airport, amounting to thousands of additional seats.
An extra Thursday flight to Palma will increase easyJet frequency to the Majorcan capital to up to eight weekly flights between 27 June and 24 October.
A third weekly service to Paris Charles de Gaulle in July and August, meanwhile, will complement existing Monday and Friday services and offer more opportunities to connect with further-flung destinations via France’s busiest airport, which is home to Air France.
The boost follows Southend’s busiest winter since 2019, with flights to Alicante, Amsterdam, Paris and Geneva – plus Balkan Holidays’ Bulgaria charter.
John Upton, Southend airport chief executive, said the extra flights was "testament" to the airport’s dedication to expand its offering.
EasyJet’s UK country manager Ali Gayward added: "Paris is proving popular with those looking for a city break or travelling for business, and the increase in frequency of our flights to Majorca from the airport provides additional options for customers’ summer holidays with more choice and great value fares."
