Fort Myers tourism urges Brits: ‘Please be part of our hurricane recovery’

Four months on, TTG’s Madeleine Barber was the first UK journalist to visit the area and speak to local residents and business owners as she reported on the destination’s road to recovery.

During her visit, Madeleine met a number of local hotel and restaurant owners to hear how the hurricane has impacted their businesses and how close they are to being ready to welcome back British and Irish visitors, as well as checking out the upcoming Margaritaville property due to open on Fort Myers Beach later this year.

The message from the area’s tourism industry was a resilient and hopeful one: “Please come and be part of our recovery”.
