Holiday Architects and Holiday Extras have been named among the best places in travel to work in 2024.
Companies and brands from across the sector gathered at the offices of Grant Thornton in London on Monday (10 June) for the 2024 Best Workplaces in Travel ceremony, which celebrates 30 of the best employers in travel.
Holiday Architects emerged as one of the night’s big winners after it came out on top in three of the special categories for its attention to promoting wellbeing, performance recognition and equitability.
The specialist tour operator was also the runner-up in the small business category (20 to 49 employees), pipped to the title by Global Travel Management, with luxury trade-only tour operator Lusso coming third.
Holiday Extras claimed the top spot in the large business category (250+ employees), beating Iglu and Royal Caribbean Group, while Ice Travel Group was named top mid-size employer (50 to 249 employees).
Luxury Coastal was recognised as the top micro company (10 to 19 employees) and also won the special award for its commitment to purpose. Saga, meanwhile, won the We Try Harder Award, which celebrates the efforts made by companies to improve their score year-on-year.
Gail Kenny, co-founder of Best Workplaces in Travel, said: “Congratulations to all the companies that participated. I just can’t stress enough the importance of attracting, engaging and retaining great people in our beloved travel industry.”
Last year, Jet2holidays took the top spot in the large business category, while easyJet holidays was named best mid-size employer and Panache Cruises came out as top small business.
