A homeworker, who has only been selling cruise for a year, has hailed Virgin Voyages for "turning cruising on its head" and urged other agents to take advantage of the opportunities that come with promoting the line.
Not Just Travel (NJT) agent Julie Moss got a taste of Virgin Voyages’ product at NJT’s Seminar at Sea onboard VV’s Valiant Lady in June, and said the adults-only line was “an easy sell” because of its “free and easy” concept.
Moss has sailed with the line three times so far and has booked another cruise on 2,770-passenger Resilient Lady next year. She plans to sail again with Virgin Voyages down under towards the end of 2024.
This week, NJT revealed sales of Virgin Voyages by its consultants, franchisees and homeworkers had increased by 400% over the past 12 months thanks to its close partnership with the line.
Asked why Virgin Voyages had proven so popular with NJT agents, Moss said: “The whole concept appeals. No kids, no buffet, the elevated entertainment – and it’s free and easy. Virgin Voyages has turned cruising on its head.”
Moss has made 10 Virgin Voyages bookings since she started selling the line last year. “Virgin Voyages is my top-selling cruise line,” she added.
“I’ve only been selling cruise for a year. Before that, Greece – where I used to live – and India – where I used to work – were my forte, then I got introduced to Virgin Voyages.
“Virgin Voyages is so fresh and innovative. For me, they’re the best cruise line to sell – and I’m in my mid-50s.
"Onboard, you can either be in the party, or there are so many nooks and crannies around the ship to chill in you don’t have to be part of the party.”
Moss added: “Virgin Voyages is an easy sell for me. I knew that once everyone went on the Seminar at Sea that it would become a best-seller. Virgin Voyages’ sailings have been absolutely flying off the shelf.”
NJT chief commercial officer Chris Harrison said: “Since the Seminar at Sea in June, the passion of the consultants for the Virgin Voyages brand has converted into strong sales.
“Having Virgin Voyages as an active, engaging and highly motivated key cruise partner has created a bountiful relationship that culminates in incredible sales.”
He added: “We have experienced exponential turnover growth in all cruise sales within a year, and soon, cruise will encompass a third of all sales by attracting new and repeat customers.”
Virgin Voyages’ UK sales director SJ Walker added: “Virgin Voyages becoming a key cruise partner with Not Just Travel has resulted in a substantial boost to our business.
“The Seminar at Sea was a game-changer in terms of enabling NJT consultants to experience the Virgin Voyages’ onboard experience.”
