Software company Widgety is set to roll out a new tech platform for both agents and tour operators.
Initially revealed last week, the platform will give agents one single space to access content from tour operators and cruise lines, while giving partners the opportunity to take control of their brand while building direct relationships with sales people.
“Widgety hopes to sit between the cruise line or tour operator, and the travel agents that sell the holidays,” said director Damian Gervertz.
The new technology will initially be rolled out to cruise lines over the coming weeks to build the content library. It will then become available to both tour operators and agents later this year.
The announcement was hailed by InteleTravel UK director Tricia Handley-Hughes, whose 14,000 homeworkers already have direct access to Widgety’s content.
“It’s very difficult when you’ve got 14,000 agents and you’re trying to train everybody, so to have everything in one central resource is amazing,” she said. “Everything is so easy, and rather than something taking three days it’s done within 24 hours.”
