Events veteran Micaela Giacobbe has launched a new consultancy, Journeys.global, drawing on her more than 25 years’ industry experience.
Journeys will provide tailored events and networking solutions, and is able to cater for up to 50,000 delegates – in-person and online.
Giacobbe spent 14 years at Reed Exhibitions where she oversaw marketing and communications for the company’s largest event, WTM London, which grew during her tenure to accommodate more than 50,000 delegates and 5,000 exhibitions.
She overhauled the event’s traditional networking activities with the introduction of WTM Speed Networking, which saw the format shift to buyers hosting tables and welcoming exhibitors.
Giacobbe, who is fluent in five languages, also led the expansion of the WTM brand to Latin America.
In 2014, she launched Connections – an events business targeting the luxury travel sector – and hosted more than 50 events around the world, and a number of online events during the pandemic.
Journeys can also cater for keynotes, content sessions, facilitation, team building, training and consultancy.
"I’ve run large-scale events and at the helm of the switch to smaller, bespoke, one-on-one meetings events, and used cutting-edge technology to continue to allow business leaders to connect during the Covid pandemic," said Giacobbe.
“Journeys is the future of the events industry with a pioneering, new-age networking concept that combines cutting edge, proven tools and techniques to encourage the very best interactions."
