InteleTravel is celebrating its second-best month since it launched in the UK six years ago.
The homeworking agency’s February revenue was up by 47% compared with the same month last year. Average booking values, meanwhile, increased by 5.5% year-on-year in February, which InteleTravel has put down to long-haul and European short-haul bookings performing well.
Tricia Handley-Hughes, InteleTravel managing director UK and Ireland, attributed the growth to the “strong relationship” the agency has forged with key suppliers and their continuous support during the past month.
"The first quarter has proved immensely busy for our 2024 partner engagement programme, and with plans in place for 2024, we predict our suppliers will be reaping the rewards of the collaboration,” she said.
It comes after travel trade discount platform Touchdown Travel Industry Services temporarily suspended bookings from InteleTravel agents late last month.
The issue, though, was quickly resolved with Handley-Hughes putting the transgressions down to "a few isolated incidents" of consultant’s sharing Touchdown’s trade-only rates with the people ineligible for them.
