Tui UK and Ireland’s marketing and customer experience director Jeremy Ellis is stepping down after 27 years working for the company.
He has overseen the marketing division since 2011, during which time he has overseen not only the brand refresh of First Choice but also the recent rebrand of Thomson to Tui.
Ellis will quit the role in May, having originally joined Thomson Holidays in 1991 as a graduate planning Mediterranean destinations in the summer and winter departments.
He has also been credited with creating the company’s first no-frills holiday to be sold online, the Tui Sensatori concept and making First Choice an all-inclusive brand.
Ellis said: “I feel very lucky to have had such a long and varied career in Tui. It’s a fantastic business with fantastic people in a fantastic industry and I’ve learnt so much from my 27-year tenure.
"Leaving Tui will be hard as the business goes from strength to strength, but I know this is the right decision for me.”
Ellis will be handing over to Katie McAlister who will join the Tui UK and Ireland board as chief marketing officer from June 1.
McAlister joined Tui 19 years ago and has spent an equal amount of time working in commercial and digital roles, but recently as digital director for Tui Group.
