Kuoni’s marketing director Dean Harvey is to step down at the end of the year after almost seven years with the brand.
Harvey will steer the operator’s peaks campaign before he leaves on 31 December. Kuoni has not announced a replacement and said Harvey planned “to return to the creative industry in an entrepreneurial role”.
Harvey joined Kuoni from Designate, where he was digital development director working on brands including Mark Warner, Travelzoo and Disney. Prior to that was part of the team which founded SEO agency Spannerworks, which grew rapidly between 2004 and 2008 and was sold to US SEO agency iCrossing for £40 million.
Harvey stayed a further three years as chief commercial officer, working with brands including Apple, Toyota, M&S and Coca-Cola.
He said: “After nearly seven years, it feels the right time to move on. I’ve loved every minute of my time at Kuoni; even the challenges brought on by the pandemic allowed us to experiment with creative content and build on our position as one of the most trusted brands in travel.”
Francis Torrilla, chief executive of Kuoni parent company Der Touristik UK, said: “We wish Dean every success for the future. His contribution has been significant and he leaves the brand in fantastic shape.”
