Aircraft operations at Liverpool airport have resumed following a temporary suspension on Monday afternoon (22 April) due to a power failure affecting air traffic control services.
Liverpool John Lennon airport confirmed the outage in a post to social media shortly after 1.30pm, stressing work was under way to resolve the issue. "Unfortunately, a power failure is impacting air traffic control and aircraft operations are temporarily suspended," said the airport.
"Passengers, or those meeting flights, should contact their airline for the latest flight information. Engineers are working to resolve this as soon as possible with updates to follow."
At around 3.10pm in another social media update, LJLA said the problem had been resolved: "Our engineers have resolved the earlier air traffic control power issue, and aircraft operations have now resumed.
"There may be delays to your flight, please consult your airline for any further updates. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
TTG has approached Liverpool airport for further information.
