Marella Cruises will remove its Covid-19 requirements from 1 May, meaning all passengers will no longer need to show proof of vaccination when sailing.
The line said on Wednesday (1 March) the new rules will be implemented across all its destinations except for countries, such as the US, that still require Covid vaccination to enter.
“Many destinations no longer require vaccination as a condition to entry, and relaxing these rules is the natural next step as the travel and cruise industry progresses after the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Marella managing director Chris Hackney.
“We hope the relaxation of these rules means our guests can enjoy an easier pre-travel experience.”
Guests travelling before 1 May will still need to be vaccinated to board all four ships in Marella’s fleet, while children between the ages of two and 11 will need to follow the specific requirements set out by authorities at each port of arrival.
Marella’s move to scrap vaccination requirements follows the line’s decision to drop pre-departure testing in October 2022.
