Fully vaccinated guests will be able to go ashore independently on MSC Cruises’ winter 2021/22 sailings, the line has confirmed.
Individuals will still have to follow the entry requirements and Covid protocols of the countries they visit.
Guests who are not fully vaccinated, or have children in their travelling party, will still need to go ashore with an MSC Cruises protected shore excursion.
The move comes as the line announces its health and safety protocols for the forthcoming winter season.
For the programme, MSC will require guests to provide a negative Covid test result, proof of vaccination received more than two weeks before the start of the cruise for all guests over the age of 12 and Covid-19 insurance documentation.
Guests aged from two to 11 will need to provide proof of a negative PCR test.
Insurance policies, which are mandatory, will need to cover against Covid-19 related risks, such as cancellation, interruption, repatriation expenses, quarantine, medical assistance and expenses and hospitalisation.
Travellers will also be able to purchase and perform a PCR or Antigen test during their cruise if this is required for them to return to their home country. This service is booked and paid for onboard and is organised through the medical centre.
