MSC Group will offer MSC Aurelia as emergency accommodation to the communities impacted by the earthquake which hit Turkey and Syria earlier this month.
The passenger and vehicle ferry has 1,000 beds, leisure spaces, a restaurant, a cinema and video game entertainment systems for children.
The ship will remain in Iskenderun after it ferries 60 pallets worth of emergency medical supplies, food, hygiene items, warm clothing, blankets and toys to the port.
In addition, the MSC Foundation has collaborated with the UN Refugee Agency to donate a further 100 containers carrying first aid supplies to Gaziantep.
MSC Turkey has also set up temporary accommodation at Iskenderun port using empty containers for 300 MSC Group employees and their families who lost their homes in the earthquake disaster.
"We feel a strong sense of obligation to act promptly in order to support the people most in need by all means," said Daniela Picco, executive director of the MSC Foundation.
"We are a part of a global organisation that can set in motion a large-scale operation by involving foundations and associations that we collaborate with all around the world."
