Six Senses is to continue its expansion in Europe with plans to open a resort in France’s Loire Valley.
The Bangkok-based hotel and spa operator will open Six Senses Loire Valley in the village of Saint-Laurent-Nouan in 2022.
The Six Senses resort will be located within the Les Bordes Estate, which is home to Les Bordes Golf Club. It will feature 88 suites and villas built around the estate’s woodland landscape. There will also be 70 privately owned residential villas, which can be included in the hotel’s inventory.
Other facilities will include a Six Senses Spa offering treatments using plants and herbs grown in its own medicinal garden, while an Earth Lab will showcase the property’s conservation initiatives.
Dining options will include an all-day restaurant and lounge bar, while a specialty restaurant will offer menus using the Eat with Six Senses principles of local and sustainable sourcing.
Six Senses will be working with London-based investment firm RoundShield Partners on the development of the resort over the next few years.
Bernhard Bohnenberger, president of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, said: “We feel really fortunate to be collaborating with RoundShield Partners on a very unique project which will give a new dynamic to this world-famous destination and complement our existing and upcoming resorts in Europe.
“Six Senses Loire Valley is being designed with our sustainability values at its heart and will appeal to experience seekers, nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts looking to get up close with this region’s exceptional beauty, culture and history.”
