One-third of new recruits taken on by Travel Counsellors over the past year were new to the travel industry, the homeworking firm has revealed.
Nearly 300 travel entrepreneurs have launched businesses with Travel Counsellors over the past 12 months, growing its ranks to 2,121 worldwide – a 7% year-on-year increase.
Of these 297 new starters, more than 100 were new to the travel industry, the group confirmed on Wednesday (21 August) as it marked World Entrepreneurs Day.
Travel Counsellors added it has also seen an uptick in more experienced travel professionals seeking to join its community, bringing more than 1,000 years combined travel industry experience.
The firm said the entrepreneurial spirit among its numbers was borne out in the fact that 59% of UK TCs are now working together collaboratively under its TC Teams strategy.
In addition, Travel Counsellors said the growth in numbers had coincided with ongoing investments in professional develop, with 330 TCs over the past year taking time away from their businesses to take part in dedicated training sessions exploring new business opportunities and strategies.
