Ponant has removed its requirement for guests to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test prior to embarkation.
To board, guests must now present proof of full vaccination (including a booster jab) or evidence they have received two jabs – as long as the second was administered within nine months of the date of embarkation.
They can also show evidence of past infection or evidence of one vaccination dose administered more than two weeks and within a maximum of four months at the time of the boarding.
A test will only be mandatory if it is required by local authorities. Guests will have the opportunity to do the test onboard.
The same applies for wearing a mask, which is no longer compulsory for guests, although the line still "highly recommends" their use onboard and ashore.
In the event of a Covid case being detected onboard, the quarantine measures may be reduced depending on the diagnosis of the ship’s doctor regarding the risk of infection.
However, if the risk onboard were to increase, the ship’s captain may need to reintroduce more extensive measures with regards to tests, mask wearing and quarantine.
