Royal Caribbean International’s Wonder of the Seas has made its inaugural sailing from Florida to the Caribbean.
The vessel departed Fort Lauderdale on Friday (5 March) and will offer seven-night Caribbean cruises through April before heading to Barcelona and Rome for a summer in the Mediterranean.
Wonder offers more than 20 restaurants, bars and lounges across its eight onboard neighbourhoods – a first for an Ocean class ship.
The Suite Neighborhood welcomes Royal Suite Class guests to a private Suite Sun Deck which features a plunge pool and bar, the Coastal Kitchen, the Suite Lounge and the Ultimate Family Suite for a family of 10.
Meanwhile, The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar offers new twists on classics for brunch and dinner, and late at night, along with live country music, farmhouse-style decor, a collection of 19 American whiskeys.
Wonder Playscape is an underwater-themed play area featuring slides, climbing walls, games, interactive activities, puzzles and light shows.
At the center of the Caribbean-theme is the pool deck, where the new cantilevered Vue Bar joins the lineup of poolside hotspots, such as the Lime & Coconut, a trio of high-speed waterslides, kids aqua park and the adults-only Solarium.
Wonder’s eastern and western Caribbean cruises through April include visits to Royal Caribbean’s private destinations, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas and Labadee in Haiti, as well as Puerto Rico, Honduras and Mexico.
The vessel will then offer seven-night western Mediterranean cruises to destinations such as Naples and Florence in Italy, Palma de Mallorca in Spain and Provence, France.
After completing an inaugural Europe season, Wonder will return to homeport in Cape Canaveral, Florida, to offer year-round Caribbean itineraries.
