Russia has removed its two-week quarantine requirement for UK travellers, according to guidance issued by the Foreign Office.
Russia currently sits on the amber list for international travel, meaning fully vaccinated UK tourists can now travel to and from the country without having to quarantine. Unvaccinated individuals will still have to isolate for 10 days upon returning to the UK.
Travellers will still have to take a PCR test prior to departure, a test 72 hours before their return to the UK and a test taken on or before day two of their return.
Peter Wybrow, Russia specialist for Regent Holidays, said the operator has seen an "influx of enquiries" since the update came into effect on 4 September.
"This is fantastic news," he added. "As visas to Russia take about four weeks, enquiries are mostly for 2022, but we are hopeful that we will be sending a good number of clients to one of our favourite destinations before the end of the year".
