Fully vaccinated short-term travellers can now apply to visit Singapore, the country’s government has confirmed.
The changes will come into effect on 18 October and potential visitors will have to apply for a vaccinated travel pass (VTP) between seven and 30 days prior to their intended date of entry.
Singapore officials will also waive the requirement for entrants to take a day three and day seven PCR test from 18 October. Anyone who has made payment for a test will be refunded.
According to the UK Foreign Office, the country will only accept the UK’s letter version of proof of Covid recovery and vaccination record.
Transport secretary Grant Shapps said the changes are a "boost for business travel".
"Singapore has today announced an easing of restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers from the UK, rejuvenating a key trade route between our countries," Shapps tweeted.
