Swan Hellenic has named its third expedition ship SH Diana after the ancient Roman goddess of light, the moon, hunting and the wilderness.
Diana is under construction in Helsinki and is due to launch in early 2023 when it will sail the Mediterranean.
Like sisters SH Minerva and SH Vega, Diana is built to polar expedition standards; it is designed to sail in high-latitude areas, but is also equipped to sail worldwide voyages.
It will feature a diesel-electric hybrid-ready propulsion system, as well as an ice-strengthened hull.
At 125 metres in length, Diana is the line’s largest ship, able to accommodate 192 guests in its 96 staterooms and suites. It will be crewed by a team of 141.
Features and amenities include a pool, spa, sauna, gym, library, expedition laboratory and observation lounge for lectures, as well as a panoramic restaurant, club lounge and pool bar.
