A 24-year-old man has been arrested at Gatwick in connection with Syria-related terrorism offences, West Midlands Police says.
Counter-terrorism police also arrested a woman, 20, at an address in west London on suspicion of Syria-related offences, the force has said.
According to BBC News, police believe there was "no risk to any passengers at Gatwick Airport or to the wider public" related to the arrests.
The man was detained before boarding a flight at the airport and the pair are now being held at a police station in the West Midlands.
In addition, searches are being carried out at two addresses in Birmingham.
