Tui has become the latest travel company to launch a fundraising appeal in support of the families impacted by the earthquakes in south eastern Turkey and Syria on Monday (6 February).
The Tui Care Foundation will match every donation made to its new Emergency Relief Fund Appeal, which will support Unicef’s efforts on the ground in the affected areas.
Andrew Flintham, managing director of Tui UK and Ireland, said: "We are devastated to hear of the scale of the disaster in Turkey and the massive impact it has had on thousands of people.
"As a travel provider who operates in the country, it is essential for us to contribute to relief efforts and help the people who have lost their homes and are in desperate need of support."
Other companies which have supported aid efforts in the region include Holiday Extras, which pledged £10,000 towards relief appeals, Intrepid Travel, which launched its own fundraising initiative and easyJet, which will begin an in-flight collection service on Saturday (11 February).
Elsewhere, Istanbul’s Pegasus Airlines is offering free flights away from regions affected by the earthquakes.
