Turkey has launched a range of Covid travel insurance policies, designed to mitigate the challenges posed to travel by coronavirus.
Cover starts from €15 (£13.50) for €3,000 worth of healthcare costs.
Policies are available online, as well as from certain airlines and at airport kiosks.
Turkey has also launched insurance packages covering costs arising from a stay having to be extended owing to a positive coronavirus test.
This cover stars from €10 (£9) for 15 days, covering up to €100 (£90) accommodation costs a day for a maximum of 15 days.
According to Turkey’s Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, visitors staying at hotels with more than 50 rooms can get tested for Covid on request.
There are now more than 2,000 certified facilities across the country offering testing, including in popular tourist destinations such as Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir.
Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkey’s culture and tourism minister, said: “While tourists coming to our country from many different countries enjoy their holidays in Turkey safely, we continue conducting inspection at our facilities incessantly.
“Our guests who wish to spend their holidays in Turkey can feel at ease knowing that we have thought of every single detail and taken all necessary precautions for them, and we are fastidiously inspecting all practices in the field.”
Portugal has also launched its own travel insurance product.
