Cunard this week invited TTG and travel agents from around the world to take a behind-the-scenes tour of its first new ship for more than a decade, Queen Anne.
The 3,000-passenger vessel will be the line’s first ship in 14 years and once it enters service in May 2024, it will be the first time in 25 years Cunard has had four ships in its fleet.
Angus Struthers, Cunard vice-president, global marketing and EMEA sales, told TTG Queen Anne’s design had been inspired by the brand’s past, but designed for its future.
Our ship tour at the Fincantieri yard in Marghera, Italy, began in the fitness centre where guests can spin, lift weights or relax in the spa pool in the middle of the thermal suite. Queen Anne will boast the widest selection of fitness, beauty, thermal and spa facilities ever seen on a Cunard ship.
We then headed to the onboard Golden Lion pub, where the menu features pub classics such as beer-battered Atlantic cod, prime Angus burger and Cunard’s signature Golden Lion Ploughman’s.
Our next port of call, the new Bright Lights Society venue, is certain to be a draw thanks to its wide-ranging entertainment offering and jazzy electric blue decor.
The Britannia Restaurant, meanwhile, will be popular with Britannia Club guests – and Cunard has increased the number of two-person tables in the space to entice more guests.
Next we visit the Grills Terrace – another exclusive area which only guests staying in the Grills suites can access – before our tour wraps up in Commodore Club, where everyone’s invited to unwind with a signature cocktail.
