Virgin Atlantic to resume direct Tel Aviv flights in September
Ilaria Grasso MacolaVirgin Atlantic is set to resume direct flights between Heathrow and Tel Aviv after the summer – less than a year after it was forced to halt operations amid the Hamas-Israel conflict.
The carrier announced on Monday (3 June) daily services to Tel Aviv will resume on 5 September and will be operated by Virgin Atlantic’s A330 aircraft.
The restored route will also offer connections to the US, with 33 daily flights to 14 destinations operated by Virgin Atlantic and US partner Delta Air Lines.
“Our return to Tel Aviv on 5 September will be welcome news for customers who have enjoyed our service since 2019, and this time round it’ll be strengthened by our new codeshare partnership with El Al,” said chief commercial officer Juha Jarvinen.
The codeshare partnership will in fact give customers additional flexibility and a raft of new destinations, including 11 new US destinations.
The announcement comes as Ryanair resumed flights to Tel Aviv on 3 June, while easyJet and British Airways restarted services on 25 March and 1 April respectively.
