Uniting Australia’s landmark attractions, Cultural Attractions of Australia (CAOA) provides a range of curated, behind-the-scenes experiences that are an ideal way for travellers to immerse themselves in Australian culture.

CAOA celebrates the diverse history, art, culture and sport that has defined the nation’s identity, and the two new members to it’s 19-strong collective further enhance the collective’s mission to promote cultural tourism.

The National Portrait Gallery provides a boutique art gallery experience that brings visitors face-to-face with portraits of those who have shaped the nation – their identities, histories, cultures, creativity and diversity. With its intimate, architecturally designed building, the National Portrait Gallery offers a space that reflects the diverse faces of Australia.

The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), meanwhile, is synonymous with sporting excellence and innovation. As a world-class facility, the AIS not only nurtures elite athletes but also offers visitors an immersive experience into the world of high-performance sport.

Through interactive tours and exhibitions, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Australia’s sporting achievements and the dedication behind them. The inclusion of the AIS in the CAOA collective underscores the importance of sport as a cultural pillar and a significant draw for tourists.

Both new members share a commitment to promoting cultural tourism in Australia. By joining the CAOA, the National Portrait Gallery and the Australian Institute of Sport are poised to contribute significantly to the collective’s mission. Their participation will help build greater awareness of the diverse cultural experiences available in Australia, encouraging more travellers to explore and appreciate the nation’s rich cultural landscape.

Cultural Attractions of Australia (CAOA) provides a single point of contact for travel trade. The curated experiences offered through the collective are pre-bookable and fully commissionable to trade via a dedicated trade website where rates and images can be accessed.
