A-Rosa River Cruises is restructuring its UK operations after experiencing an unexpectedly “challenging year” in 2024.
The German river line said the restructure of the UK team will see regional sales manager Emma Rodgers reporting directly to UK & Ireland managing director Lucia Rowe.
The role of sales director, currently held by Michelle Daniels, is being made redundant once she has completed a handover within the business.
Rowe said: “Against our expectations, 2024 has been more of a challenging year so far and based on this we were required to realign the structure of the business in the UK.”
A-Rosa added that it was “keen to reiterate its commitment to the UK market and its B2B strategy”.
“The team in the UK will continue to provide all the training and support needed by its trade partners and travel agents, as well as further growing the A-Rosa brand in this important market,” said the line in a statement.
Rowe added: “We are incredibly sorry to lose Michelle who from her very first day with us helped develop our fully-inclusive tour sales strategy and found new channels of growth for this area of our business.
“She is such a high-achieving professional and her work ethic, superb knowledge and network in the cruising industry would have undoubtably helped us with our ambitions for the UK market.
"This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make and we are all very sad to see Michelle go. We wish her the very best of success for her future endeavours.”
