Affordable Car Hire has launched a new online training platform “to give agents more confidence” in selling vehicle rental.
Product from the company’s travel ancillaries brand, Affordable Xtras, will also be uploaded to the Affordable Training Academy, giving agents more information on selling airport parking, airport lounges, travel money and airport hotels.
The training academy features a “car hire clinic” to help agents learn how to convert ancillary products into sales.
It features five modules, with a multiple-choice test at the end of each. Categories include car hire terms, how to book, how to sell, US car hire and customer support.
Completing all five modules and taking each test takes about 20 minutes in total, Affordable said. There is no cost involved, and a certificate is awarded once each test is taken.
Angela Day, chief executive, said: “What we’ve traditionally found is that once agents have had some training on car hire, their conversion rates are a lot higher.
“For example, when agents complete our online webinars, their training conversion is around 70%.
“A lot of people are scared of the jargon that surrounds the car hire product.
“Our new Affordable Training Academy aims to demystify that and make it easier to understand and therefore sell.”
The Affordable Training Academy also features fact sheets that agents can download, including Supermax and Top Up Maxi insurance, a fleet guide, supplier desk locations, one way car hire, information on current incentives available to agents and useful information on upcoming webinars.
