Agents were a "critical" component of Tauck’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, the operator’s chief executive Dan Mahar has said.
Speaking in Connecticut to Tauck’s worldwide office and support staff to mark the company’s "robust" return from the pandemic, Mahar praised the river cruise and touring company’s supplier and agent partners.
"Our travel advisors and partner suppliers were critical to our success this year, and our exceptional restart wouldn’t have been possible without them," he said.
"Our industry has achieved something really special – it’s truly the accomplishment of a lifetime – and I hope all of our advisor partners and supplier partners feel the same sense of pride that we do."
During its 2022 season, the brand hosted guests in 61 different countries, operated within 5% of 2019 levels on its North America, Europe, and bridges and river cruising itineraries, and achieved "near record-high" advanced bookings for 2023.
"Tauck is well-positioned for continued success in the coming year, with near-record pre-season bookings and continued strong interest from past guests and new-to-Tauck travellers," Mahar added.
"Restarting operations from a complete shutdown was a daunting challenge, but our staged restart in 2021 paved the way for this year’s success, and in turn this year’s success has given us the experience, resources and momentum to continue moving forward in 2023."
