British holidaymakers are among thousands of people who have been evacuated from an area near Spain’s Costa del Sol after a wildfire broke out, according to reports.
Around 2,000 people have reportedly fled from the centre of the town of Benahavis, which is around 12 miles from Marbella, after the fire broke out on the slopes of the Pujerra mountain in the Sierra Bermeja.
It is thought as many as 200 firefighters and 100 military personnel are tackling the blaze. Three firefighters are said to have been injured.
The Sun reported some British tourists staying in the area have been relocated to emergency accommodation in San Pedro de Alcantara on the coast.
