The Cayman Islands is poised to lift all its remaining Covid travel restrictions, meaning travellers are no longer subject to any pre or post-travel testing, vaccination or registration requirements.
Effective from Wednesday (24 August), travellers – regardless of their point of origin – will no longer be required to be fully vaccinated or to submit a declaration upon their arrival.
The update to the islands’ Covid-19 protocols was confirmed by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism on Tuesday (23 August) following a phased, five-stage border reopening plan.
Cayman minister for tourism and transport, Kenneth Bryan, said the new regulations were "in keeping" with the current global environment.
"Today is a great day in Cayman and we thank every traveller, partner, and member of our community for ensuring our government’s phased reopening plan remains a success," he said. "At last, we can proudly say the Cayman Islands is open to all."
Rosa Harris, Cayman director of tourism, added: "With each new phase of reopening we have seen an increase in visitor arrivals to our beautiful destination, and we recently celebrated a major tourism recovery milestone as we increased airlift capacity.
"We are ready to open our doors to everyone who wishes to visit us and believe that the future of Cayman tourism is strong."
