Children aged 12-15 are set to be given access to digital Covid passes in time for the February half-term.
The move is expected to come as the government reportedly prepares to relax international travel curbs.
Ministers are expected to agree to scrap a range of measures at a meeting of the Covid-O committee on Monday (24 January), including tests for travellers arriving in the UK.
According to The Telegraph, the changes are likely to be implemented in February.
Currently, under-16s require an NHS letter confirming their vaccination status to avoid restrictions in countries such as France, Italy and Spain, which require all over-12s to be double jabbed.
