Coral Expeditions has set up a UK sales office and has appointed Amy Sharpe the line’s UK sales manager.
The Australian line said following the launch of its fourth vessel, Coral Adventurer, opening a permanent UK sales office reflected “strong demand for expedition cruising product out of the UK and European source markets”.
Sharpe will work with closely with international sales manager Elizabeth Webb to lead Coral’s expansion into global markets as it grows its fleet and schedule.
Initiatives, says Coral, will focus on trade partners active in the expedition cruise sector, as well as building awareness of the line’s small-ship expedition product.
“We have identified the UK as a key international market for FIT [fully-inclusive tours], group and charter expeditions, and we are thrilled to have Amy on the ground to lead our sales efforts,” said Webb.
“The UK market understands expedition cruising and is well suited to our Australian style of hospitality with the market currently representing a significant proportion of our overall business.”
Sharpe brings eight years’ experience working in the expedition cruising market in the UK following a stint with eWaterways.com, and has witnessed the growth in demand for small ships and more niche cruise product.
“I’m delighted to have joined the Coral Expeditions team to lead the future growth the UK market,” said Sharpe.
“Having recently been onboard Coral Adventurer, I know this is a product discerning travellers will love due to its expedition capabilities and onboard comfort. It is quite unlike any other products in the market.”
