Coronation Street played host to Hays Travel’s summer street party last week, which saw 30 die-hard Corrie fans enjoy a full-day visit to the set where Hays "opened" a branch last year.
Attendees, who won their places through a prize draw, met on 8 June for drinks and canapes before heading to ITV studios, where the TV series is filmed.
Following a behind-the-scenes tour of the set, the group headed to the famous Speed Daal restaurant, where they met some of the cast. Participants were then treated to a street food barbecue and live entertainment on Weatherfield’s famous cobbles, as well as a Corrie quiz.
Hays Travel sales managers Jenny Brooks and Toni Smith, e-commerce marketing head Sukie Rapal and marketing manager Dionne Evans were on-hand to help guests make their most of the time on set.
"It was amazing to meet all of the prize winners for a memorable day on the Coronation Street set, and of course, to see our Hays Travel Weatherfield branch on the cobbles,” said Brooks. “I think we were all as excited as each other and soaked up the sunny atmosphere.”
“What a day that was!" said one attendee. "So surreal, all lovely people and we were treated like royalty. Thank you so much for this once in a lifetime opportunity."
Another added: "We made the best memories and something to cherish forever. All the staff made us feel so welcome. Thank you so much for an absolutely incredible day."
Hays confirmed plans to open its doors on the streets of Weatherfield in May 2023. The branch eventually broke cover when viewers caught a glimpse of the new store during an episode aired on 4 December.
