Travel got off to a strong start in 2023, with agents, operators and cruise lines reporting record January sales during the first proper peaks for three years.
However, the issue of fraud has come to the fore over the past couple of months, with several agents speaking out publicly on their experiences, and with a high-profile travel fraud case making its way through the courts.
Several suppliers have issued fraud warnings, with Jet2holidays’ fraud and chargeback manager Liz Holloway last year warning the cost of living crisis would likely drive more fraudulent activity.
As part of a wider investigation into the issue, TTG would like to hear from agents about their experiences of fraud in recent months to gauge the extent to which the problem has reared its head.
Agents are therefore invited to take TTG’s snap fraud poll, which should take no more than a couple of minutes at most to complete. The results of the survey will be revealed in the March edition of TTG.
