Holidaysplease has appointed Di Victory as social media executive, a new role created to boost sales and support the homeworking group’s network of agents.
Victory has worked at the company for almost three years as a personal travel expert and, after starting her career in the industry in 2000, took an interest in social media during the pandemic.
Since taking on her new role Victory has created a social media hub along with a WhatsApp group for the team and uses the channels to post “enticing” supplier deals.
Holidaysplease claimed the first offer Victory shared with colleagues helped create £115,000 worth of sales within three days.
Victory said: “This saves the agents so much time, why have 100 agents all hunting for deals when one can do the job and share their findings, allowing our selling agents time to do what they are passionate about – selling travel?”
She said she is aiming to make the agents more confident using social media, give them advice on their pages, help them to understand algorithms, and support them in making the most of business tools.
“Some agents were baffled or scared by social media and we are overcoming these issues together,” said Victory.
Cat Reeves, brand and business growth executive, said: "This is part of an initiative by Holidaysplease to work smarter, be more proactive and allow agents to run as efficiently, effectively and confidently as possible in these super busy times.
“Di’s experience of being a homeworker agent for us, combined with this new found passion and expertise in social media has provided this superb opportunity for our agents.”
