TTG has partnered with the Expedition Cruise Network (ECN) to create a comprehensive expedition cruise selling guide for travel agents.
The digital selling guide contains everything from destination and wildlife guides to responsible travel tips to share with clients, an industry events calendar and answers to frequently asked questions.
A selection of TTG’s expedition cruise line partners have provided target client profiles, in depth product knowledge and selling tips for their brands, while others have shared sales team contact details and trade resources.
The operators currently with information hosted on the guide include HX Hurtigruten Expeditions, Quark Expeditions, Scenic, Aranui Cruises and Coral Expeditions, with Ponant, Silversea and more to be added in the coming weeks and months.
Akvile Marozaite, chief executive at the ECN, said the network’s recent Industry Insights Report revealed one of travel agents’ biggest challenges with selling expedition cruising is a lack of product knowledge – a challenge this guide intends to address.
“Expedition cruising is the fastest growing sector in the cruise industry and there has certainly been a growing interest from clients around this form of travel,” she added.
“To be successful in selling expedition cruising, it’s important to have a good knowledge of the destinations and understand the differences between the operators, as well as to be confident that you are offering the right experience and ship to your client.”
Marozaite also explained selling expedition cruises can be very “rewarding” thanks to the fact they’re often “high-value holidays with generous commissions” and offer agents the chance to “learn so much more about the natural world”.
