Not in the Guidebooks has made good on its pledge to bring in more resource to service agents and deliver its growth plans with the appointment of a dedicated business development manager.
The operator and experiences specialist has recruited Ocean Holidays BDM Michelle Thake, who joins in a like role and brings more than 30 years’ travel industry experience to her new post with Not in the Guidebooks.
This includes trade-facing roles with G Adventures and Jet2holidays. She also ran her own agency business with Travel Counsellors from 2004 to 2018.
Debbie Sowden, Not in the Guidebooks sales director, said: “Michelle has extensive experience of the travel industry and a huge amount of knowledge and insight as to how agents operate. She will be a great addition to our growing team, while helping us to provide even greater support to our agent partners.”
Thake added: “I have been really impressed with how Not in the Guidebooks has developed over the past few years, and I am keen to be part of their success going forward.
“I am a huge supporter of offering holidays that are kinder to the environment and am very passionate about how the industry can better support local communities.
“UK holidaymakers are increasingly looking for different and more immersive experiences, and I am excited to be part of a business who is leading the way in this area.”
