More than 500 agents apply to ‘rep’ for Classic Collection
James ChappleMore than 500 agents applied for Classic Collection’s Be Our Rep, Be Our Guest initiative, the operator has revealed, with the nine successful applicants set to be named on Friday (21 April).
Earlier this year, Classic invited agents to apply to work as an overseas representative for the business for three days at the family-owned Hotel Bon Sol in Majorca in return for a complimentary three-day break at the hotel.
Successful applicants will go behind the scenes of Classic’s operation at the hotel in Illetas, assisting with airport meet and greet, welcome meetings and hotel visits.
Si Morris-Green, Classic director of agency sales and marketing, said the trip promised to be provide "invaluable insight into both sides of customer service in an overseas environment".
"We’ve had a fabulous response to our ‘Be Our Rep, Be Our Guest’ initiative with more than 500 agents applying," said Morris-Green. "Our overseas regional managers are overseeing the selection process and we’ll be announcing the names of the successful applicants on Friday 21 April.
"Given the high number of repeat visitors to the Hotel Bon Sol, one of Classic Collection’s most popular properties, there’s a chance one or more of our successful applicants might end up being both travel agent and overseas holiday rep to their own customers."
Classic will be filming the nine winning agents’ experiences, and sharing them on social media and Classic Collection TV.
