Netflights boss Henry Sunley has named the new managing director of dnata Travel Group sister brand Travel Republic.
Sunley, who has headed up Netflights for nearly four years, assumes responsibility for the OTA with immediate effect.
He will remain Netflights MD, reporting into newly-appointed dnata Travel Group UK chief executive Lesley Rollo.
It comes after Travel Republic managing director Antonio Fellino took up a new role with the Saudi Tourism Authority in the new year.
Sunley’s career in travel started in the mid-1990s; he spent nearly 20 years with Thomas Cook before joining dnata in 2019.
"This opportunity allows me to utilise my varied travel and online experience to deliver on ambitious growth plans for Travel Republic," said Sunley. "I know there are lots of opportunities ahead for these exciting brands."
Travel Republic is licensed to carry nearly 322,000 Atol-protected passengers in the 12 months to the end of September 2024.
Rollo added: “In his new role, Henry will leverage his expertise and experience to drive continued growth and innovation across both Netflights and Travel Republic.
"Henry has been with the dnata Travel Group since 2019 and brings a wealth of experience. He has created a great culture in Netflights, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experience, and we look forward to his continued success with Travel Republic."
Rollo also paid tribute to Fellino who, like Sunley, joined dnata from Thomas Cook in February 2014. He was named Travel Republic MD in January 2020.
"As he embarks on a new chapter, we would also like to thank Antonio Fellino for his instrumental role in Travel Republic’s growth and enhancements as a booking platform for UK travellers, setting the business on the right trajectory for future success," said Rollo.
"On behalf of our teams across the UK and Middle East, we wish Antonio all the best for the future."
