Singapore Airlines is to serve Gatwick for the first time from next summer, offering five flights a week.
The carrier will fly from the West Sussex airport on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Services will begin on 22 June 2024 using an Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Flights will depart at 10.15am, arriving at 6.20am the following day, with a flight time of 13 hours and five minutes.
Inbound flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 21 June. They will depart at 11:55pm arriving at 6:25am the next day, with a flying time of 13 hours and 30 minutes.
The carrier is offering a promotional lead-in fare of £645 return, bookable from tomorrow (19 December).
The new service will complement the airline’s four daily flights from Heathrow and five weekly flights from Manchester.
Connections at Singapore’s Changi airport include 140 weekly flights to Australia, where Singapore Airlines claims the fastest connecting service from the UK to Sydney, in 21 hours 40 minutes.
The Airbus A350-900 carries 253 passengers, with 42 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy and 187 in economy.
