A team of Sunvil staff is attempting to cover more than 3,000km – the distance between all the Greek islands featured in its programme – to raise money in memory of financial controller, Ismet Emin.
Emin, who joined Sunvil in 2008 and was affectionately known as Issy, passed away on 17 April after contracting coronavirus.
The operator’s team has pledged to run, walk, cycle, step and skip the 3,236km from Corfu to Skiathos this month to raise cash for Help For Heroes, a charity Emin and his family have long supported.
Between 01-31 May the Sunvil team will attempt to cover 3236 km in an ultimate (virtual) island hop of Greece, in memory of our friend and colleague, Ismet Emin, and to raise funds for Help For Heroes, a charity close to his heart. #ultimateislandhop https://t.co/GDWbOOyAYl pic.twitter.com/BgVfykQunr

“Ismet and his family were, and remain, passionate supporters of Help For Heroes, having lost loved ones in conflict. We have chosen to take up his baton and to raise funds in his name for the cause so close to his heart,” the team explained in a message on its donation page.
“He was a much-valued and much-loved member of our family, with an ear for all and a spirit to light up the room. We all miss him dearly.”
